Hi, I’m Rich Reynics.
I’m a Montclair dad of three elementary school children, and I’m running for a seat on the Montclair Board of Education. The election is November 3, and I hope to earn your vote.
I’ve been deeply involved in our Montclair schools for years, serving as a two-term PTA President (2024–2026), Treasurer (2022–2024), and currently as co-chair of the Superintendent’s Advisory Group on Budget & Finance.
I also bring previous experience serving on a New Jersey public school board, in Hardyston Township from 2005–2007. I’ve served on budget committees, participated in collective bargaining negotiations, and understand what it takes to balance the priorities of the board, administration, educators, parents, students, and taxpayers.
Why I’m Running
I’m running because I believe in the potential of Montclair’s schools and our community. We need ambitious, measurable goals for student achievement. We need to be fiscally responsible in a challenging financial environment. And we need to restore public trust in the Board and school district.
It’s time to build a road back with a Board that operates with good governance, transparency, and accountability.
An effective school board member needs to ask the right questions, exercise strong oversight, listen to the community, and work constructively with others. That’s the approach I would bring to the Board.
